    Why was Vi so nervous about doing it with her professor? Was it because he was more intimidating than Marcus? Why was she whispering “Don’t be a racist” to herself in the bathroom?

      It was probably because Mr. Scott was more domineering, and Vi was probably saying that to not try and leave his house.

          Maybe it’s because she was used to sleeping with her boyfriend, and the professor was a newer experience for her.

                                      Or, she could have been afraid that her professor would tell everyone what happened. I don’t think Marcus would say anything about their encounters.
