It's like this movie is calculated for maximal irritation. It's also very poor film-making. In it's attmept to try to fake some energy the characters are terminally stupid before you even like them. 25 minutes into it I just want everyone to shut up. Nicole is such a stuuuuuuuuuupid b****. I just don't care about the plight of some slumming senators daughter.

Maybe they were trying to remake Romeo and Juliet or something.
Nicole was so screwed up that I never cared for her. I liked Carlos at first, but he seemed so stupid for being with her and throwing away what few advantages in life that he had that I stopped caring about him too.
But people in real life make horrible choices so maybe I should give it some credit for that.
