Kirsten Dunsts character annoyed me! She was so homely and irresponsible and obnoxious, while Carlos was an attractive athlete who had his whole life in order. Boo why did he like her. He was out of her league.

Same thing always bothered me. There was absolutely nothing attractive about her. It would have worked better if they had an actress who could express some real pain and make us sympathize with her. She just came off as a whiny, entitled brat. When he chews her out near the beginning of the film, I want to say "YEAH! Tell her" The rest of the film after that makes no sense.

agreed and i wasnt sure if i was comfortable with the insinuation that he would rather be with nicole because he wanted some one to save..he liked her and her anooooying rich bratty waysbut did not want to get to know any of the girls his mom had invited to the party because they where social/ethnic/mental on the same level..kind of like been there done thatim around girls like you every day vibehe wanted to be with nicole because she was a mess and everybody around her seemed to be at one point or another enraged with hershe was selfish with the patience and heart of a guy that liked her! going through her poor little rich girl whine fest.Nicole's mothers death was sad so i felt sorry for her but felt like that was not reason for her to stop her lifeCarlos's home situation might have been rough but i felt as though i didnt get enough insight into that
