Anyone else feel this is the best anime ever?

So hard to find your answers in this post:/
I preferred Code Geass's first season to the second, sort of. I liked Schneizel's character, although he was such a bastard in the end. But it was a series that kept you at the edge of the seat the whole time.
Planetes did not start promising, the first episodes were a bit disappointing, and I did not like the main character all that much, but in the end it was excellent, I loved the ending, so satisfying! -

Cowboy bebop is probably the most iconic anime I have seen alongside NGE, but now after more than 100 series I have seen, I would not say that it is the best of the best. Equally good as a few others though

Yeah, seriously. I cried with them and I don't always do that.
I too am childish and hate to lose.

Close but not quite. If you are looking for both style and emotion check out "Outlaw Star". That is the best/ greatest anime ever IMO. Very underrated. It's of the space opera genre same as Trigun and Cowboy Bebop too!

I watched the first five or six episodes of Outlaw Star. I really REALLY wanted to like it, 'cause it was always being mentioned in the same paragraph as Cowboy Bebop.
It did not set me on fire.
Frankly, I was disappointed, but perhaps five or six episodes isn't enough - it sure isn't for Trigun - but while I liked the first episode enough to watch the next, by the time I got to five or six, I had completely lost interest and gave up. I wasn't helped by the fact that they killed off the one character I really liked early on.
I might try it again in a few years, but right now I can't in any way put Outlaw Star in the same league as Trigun.

ah i see. well it doesnt have the same polish as bebop, its a lot more "raw" like trigun. thats pretty much the main reason why bebop is soo well known and liked whereas outlaw star isn't as well known.
try giving it another try and report back on how it goes! hopefully you will like it. like most anime it has a slow start but if after 5/6 episodes you still do not enjoy it then save your time and stop watching it. -

I actually agree with OP. I've seen tons of animeand for some reason I can watch this series over and over. The last few episodes are just epic and beautiful, can't really explain it. But yes, to me Trigun is my favorite. Kinds of reminds me of Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind-not the story mind you, but I think Nausicaa is one of Miyazaki's greatest films, but it's so aged that it is often overlooked. I think Trigun gets the same treatment
You people and your slight differences disgust me. -

I couldn't get into Outlaw Star, mostly because
they killed off my favorite character early on
. I keep hearing that compared to Cowboy Bebop (and now Trigun, two of my favorites), but I really didn't see it.
I think I got through the first six or seven episodes then had to discontinue, it did not hold my interest (but then, I know someone who didn't like Trigun, so go figure :).
Three two one Tiger & Bunny Over and Out.

@sdw10
Maybe it depends whether it was your favourite to start with?
I loved Trigun, specially once it hit later episodes, but since to start with it was not my absolute fav, it still is not. It definitely is one of the better things I have seen, but I wonder whether it would land in my top 10 at the moment, great as it is
