I looked for threads mentioning her sudden need to urinate as she watches the couple in the car about to climax. When I first saw that scene, I started to pause the movie and come straight here to see. if somebody knew if that's some sort of S&M, but as the movie continued, I almost forgot about that scene as the character got stranger and stranger - that scene became the least to stand out in the movie.
Since no threads are discussing it here, I guess everyone else forgot about it too, or it just paled in comparison to everything else? -

There was comment about this in one of the threads. I can't recall which one though.
The comment suggested the urination was linked to her cutting. The sensation and release from urinating would be heightened as a result of the cutting and she would experience something not far removed from an orgasm.
The film doesn't dwell on this but in the book there is reference to her need to urinate whenever she spies on a couple making love, which she does regularly. So the need to urinate might go beyond the sensations and be an association she has formed in her mind between the two acts.

I'm reading the book at the moment and the impression i get from her need to urinate is due to adrenaline. Be it voyeurism or anything that really gets her blood pumping. She really did need to urinate desperately after her student cut her hand, it wasn't just to lure Walter away. I think it's also mentioned that she finds it a hindrance as she sometimes experiences this urge during recitals/performances.
