Not sure. I keep thinking in ALADDIN the genie couldn't make someone fall in love. Weren't these fairy tale rules? Manipulate people emotionally, and for personal gain?

I'll have to go back and watch WM3 but I'd be willing to bet he probably made the girl become infatuated rather than fall in love. A lot of fairy tale and fantasy work talks about how love can't be manipulated, it's a human emotion that has to be freely given and received.
A boat that floats on water can also sink in it. -

This film was way too big on sex over love. The girl had finally gotten laid after years and all she does is tell him to let himself out after.
Also the Djinn really did not seem to know the difference between sex and love; he needed her to say it exactly so that he knew it was done. Acts like these made the ending very just, nobody got anything they wanted in the end.
