Movie has very distant similarity with the briliant book.
It is a great movie none the less.
I will read all 10 books in the series I can say that movies althghou great are a far cry from the books. -

I have read the whole seriesbut I will say..Robert Ludlum pens one huge/heavy bookand you really have to pay attentionwatched a great interview with him years ago, talking about taking photos of everywhere in the world he visited..and they came in handy when he was writing his bookswhich are all travelogs..

Good book but it has some terrible dialogue. Parts of it read like a sappy romance novel. As for the movie, I can totally understand why they changed the story so drastically. The book has a great plot but if they tried to follow it too closely it would have been a convoluted mess. Better they boil the story down to its essentials and then build it back up into a plot that's more wieldy for a two hour movie.

This is my only major gripe with Robert Ludlum. he is great for details and can keep you hooked, but he can not write character relationship development and love stories to save himself.
In almost all his books that involve a love relationship, it just comes across as a poor script for Hart to Hart or something, with cheesy lines and stiff that just let the story down.
Identity they at least keep the basic plot in some form or another. but that book has not aged as badly as Supremacy has, and Ultimatum was just phoned in.
