What happened to Stella?

The show has recently been re-shown on the Drama channel in UK, which I've been enjoying, However the episodes seem to have been shown in a very haphazard way.
Did I miss something?.I don't recall what happened to Stella.I seem to remember that she and Boyd had a falling out, but I don't remember her actually leaving.

Stella died at the start of series eight, after being shot in the leg by a suspect she was chasing, and suffering thrombosis as a result of the injury.

Yes; it was partly the death of Stella due to the blood clot post-shooting I think that made Grace not tell Boyd later when she was ill. She claimed it was because she "didn't want a fuss," but I think after seeing Stella in the hospital, and Boyd diddling around not coming to see her until she was already dead, Grace didn't want to tell Boyd, only to have him act indifferently toward the situation or not prioritize her.
