So, can someone explain the divergent ratings?

Generally speaking, when you look at the current IMDb ratings for this short film, you get:
Young males hate this film.
Young females love it.
As you look at each older age group, ratings tend to converge around 5-6.
There aren't enough votes to be statistically significant, particularly given that the sample isn't random, but still that just strikes me as bizarre.
Discuss.

I think some people hate it because of its shamelessly bigoted message, and others (like myself) love it because by today's standards, its shamelessly bigoted message is so absurdly over-the-top that it becomes funny. The Nostalgia Critic did a rifftrax commentary for this video, and it's hysterical. "Don't worry, we'll wash the gay out of you."
