I'm too much of a lazy ass to sit through 50 episodes, and apparently Endless Waltz is the best part anyways.

It's got some flashbacks that orient viewers, but it's much more enjoyable and easier to follow having seen the series. Events and character choices resonate much deeper having watched the series.
So many stories, so little time.
