This movie wasn't sad at all, in my opinion. Especially the part where her dad died. It had to have been one of the clumsiest scenes in a movie I've seen in a while. First off her dad was a hustler, so it's not like he was a saint. Second, it was just a really really dumb way to knock someone off so it kinda made me chuckle. To each their own, I just didn't find this movie sad. Bad, maybe, not sad.
So just because he was a hustler his death wasn't sad? It's like saying "Oh well, he was a hustler, he deserved it"..

I don't think that it was sad.I was dissapointed though(not of the movie,I loved the movie)But,I always take the side of the bad guy.Bad guy dies
Still a very excellent movie.I was hoping that he would just go to jail, but, hey,a movie is a movie. Was anyone else unhappy because of this,or am I just weird?

I thought it was sad when the father died, but mostly because Elizabeth was watching it happen. That little girl didn't know her Dad was a hustler, he was her Dad and she loved him.

I agree with you ratboy! I love Sean Bean so much and I always have to suffer by watching my poor lovely Sean Bean die! AHHH! I thought it was sad when he died. I read the book written by Klavan and his character didn't die(although, his name was Sport in the book, not Patrick.) Anyway. I love Sean Bean, he's the best.

because he most of the time plays the part of the bad guy ;o(
Well, I don't know all of his films - but in "Black Fury" (very small part) and in "Tom & Thomas" he don't die. consolingyou

Brittany Murphy killed me, in this movie. I thought she did a wonderful job.

I cried too. It was at the ending when I realized I'd paid for this steaming pile.
