What about A Life Less Ordinary ? To me, that's the movie where she was at her best, where "gorgeous" was a outrageously euphemistic word.
"This is ridiculous. If I'm going to die, I want to die in Manhattan."

Good Grief! Has anyone here ever heard of Marilyn Monroe? "Some Like It Hot", "Niagara", "The Seven Year Itch", and virtually every other film Monroe appeared in would knock Miss Cuthbert off her pins with one wink, smile, or blown kiss. Nothing wrong with Miss Cuthbert, BTW, she's lovely, but seriously- no contest- MM is the dictionary definition of sexy.
"It ain't dying I'm talking about, it's LIVING!"

I was actually thinking the same thing after watching this movie again. I thought to myself no way she still looks as hot as I thought she was back when I first saw this and lo and behold to my surprise she did! Her character still holds up well.
In answer to your question I'd say there were other actresses in certain scenes for certain moments but I really think she's probably right up there for being able to carry that personification of sexiness throughout the entire film. It's quite a feat! Her presence throughout this whole movie is incredibly strong and she absolutely exemplifies the girl next door. I mean it's almost impossible to take your eyes off her!

MM is highly over rated. Maybe for her time she was all that, but not of all time. Her face wasn't that pretty, marty feldman-ish eyes, her body was ok, but her voice was a deal breaker.
This will be the high point of my day; it's all downhill from here. -

Rebecca DeMornay in Risky Business. When she first shows up at his house and the wind blows her dress- that about did it for me. She may not be as beautiful as some of the others but she crushes them sexiness-wise.

blasphemy that you left out Jennifer Connelley in "The Rocketeer".. that 30s pin up garb? just WOW Also I'd say the way they shot Keira Knightley in "Love Actually" it was just a pure almost love letter to her as she was stunning in every single shot in that film (small role I know). Or Salma Hayek in "Fools Rush In" or "Desperado".
