                  Exactly. As a Scout-sniper he is a highly trained specialist capable of undertaking dangerous clandestine ops, but he's not a Green Beret.

                      ARVN is Army of the People Republic of Vietnam. The sniper was not a US serviceman. He was Vietnamese. Just in case this helps anyone else understand the scene.
                      Just adding to your post Winchester. Not arguing. Not sure what the guy before you was freaking about though.
