I'm only new to the show, and was wondering what past things have happened between Brett and Kim. When did he cheat on Kim, how many times, why did they marry etc

Bretty is a pants man and just can't keep it in his trousers. Kimmie is a foxy moron.
Brett has played away previously with his boss at the computer shop and by the sounds of Kimmie's "presents list" at the end of last nights show he's had at least a couple of other pants man encounters before bedding Sharon - one with twins.
Why did they marry? I can only assume that Brett has MAJOR self esteem iss-uws and a masochistic streak a mile wide. -

He cheated on Kim when he was drunk with Kylie and Danii Bolton in Season 1 Episode 3 "Sport", but Brett said He couldn't remember it, and they said he was a dud root also
In "Da Kath and Kim Code", Brett hooked up with Kelly through dirty text messages, and Sharon saw the both of them kissing, which caused Sharon almost to crash her car, and at the end of the telemovie, Kim and Brett got back together, but he was still cheating on her.
And Brett's sexual encounter with Sharon, and his affair that was mentioned at the beginning of the episodes with an unnamed person. -

In the last episode of the second series, we see that Sharon and Brett were originally going out together when they were about high school age. When Brett came to Kath and Kim's house to pick up Sharon for their date, he met and fell for Kim instead (because of her "unnatural beauty" heehee), and thus Kim and Brett were together from then on.
As far as Brett's cheating goes, his getting drunk and sleeping with Kylie and Danni Bolton was covered in the "Sport" episode of the first series. I don't think he cheated again until Da Kim and Kath Code telemovie.

Did he really cheat on her? I didn't think he had the balls to.
No matter how bad Kim treats him he seems to love her. When she's nice (the bachlorette party and the hormones) he always says he wants her to go back to being mean to him. As for the twins I thought he couldn't get it up for them and was really wasted that's why he ended up in bed with them. I don't remember the movie so I'll have to re-watch it but I never got the impression that he cheated on her. He always seemed like a doormat.
