The real Goldie?

I noticed in the bedroom scene she had with Geoffrey Rush, they used a body double. I could tell because they never showed Goldie's face, just hair hanging down. The double's body looked like someone in their 20's.

It didn't look like a doubleit looked like she had strong pantyhose to show her still well-preserved muscular legs but the hose hides the aging skin. She had a black top/leotard that holds in the loose tummy but yoy still can see it, they lit it to hide it as much as possible. I am 55 in pretty good shape myself and I recognized those tricks. I was surprised to see Goldie Hawn use them because I thought she was in much better shape than me but she isn't, just thinner and somewhat more muscular. I pass all the time for my early forties but it is the tummy and the hands I struggle with. My significant other is a photographer and he takes lots of pictures of me and angles and lighting make all the difference as to whether I look young or middle aged. And I were black a lot. I guess I feel some relief that Goldie Hawn with all her money doesn't do a whole lot better than me and that I must be doing something right. But I definiteky don't think it was a body double.

I know that it is NOT a body double. If you watch the Director's Commentary on the DVD, Bob Dolman (the director)talks about how Geoffrey Rush kept making Goldie laugh durring the making of the scene and there would be no point in filming the scene with both a body double and Goldie. Soyeah, it's not a body double. Im sure Goldie would be flattered though"someone in their 20's"

goldie hawn has always been thin and very healthy looking. it was so obvious that she is wearing a padded bra because she never takes it off. in the bathroom scene where she is in the bathroom, she is much, much flatter than the rest of the movie. that always annoyed me; that one scene gave away that she was padded.

I don't think she ever was big on the "Hollywood Scene" in her younger days. Although she was funny as hell on the tube and screen she seemed to take life more serious on the personal level. Unlike, many of the Hollywood stars who let it go to their head and become so egotistical they can't even stand their own self.
Obviously, she has seemed to be one of the more serious hard-working actresses of a bygone era and her long time association with Kurt Russell probably added to that outlook. Kurt looks good to for a 58 year old.
If any of you are old enough to remember her in Laugh In you remember her role as the totally stupid wiped out tiny blond who made you laugh just by looking at her and her facial reactions. Every time I see her in anything I start chuckling remembering the things she did on Laugh In. It's really hard to this day to relate to any other role she plays. I don't think I could ever relate to her role if it was a true drama and would have a hard time enjoying the film.
She'll always be my favorite all-time female comedian. I liked her even better than Lucille Ball because Goldie stupidness was somehow funnier in my mind than Lucy's bumbling. Don't get me wrong, Lucy was great too but not as great as Goldie.
My favorite: "Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb"

makes sense this is Goldies last role to date, she tried something completely against type, was lousy in it,probably to show off all her work on her body.Really dissapointing,i thought she was way smarter than that.
I never thought her dream was to be Marilyn, but in her 50's it seems she thought she had to feel she can sell sex and cheap one at that.Really ,really dissapointing for an actress that i enjoyed for years and has made many funny and tasteful movies. -

I like Goldie as an actress, but as to her youthful looks, it's mostly makeup. When you see her in those "star without the makeup" candid photos she looks like a totally different personvery old, very ordinary, very washed-up, not at all attractive, even.

That was true even in 2003 when this was made. I remember a candid makeup-less photo in a tabloid of her leaving her therapist's office back then. She actually looked a lot OLDER than her chronological age.
