OK I just watched this movie through last night and I have some mixed feelings (although overall I think it's safe to say I could easily forget this movie altogether). It could have been way better than it was, provided a decent budget and way better casting. The theme of teenage empowerment was promising and drew me to the premise. However it was presented poorly. I did find it interesting that these kids from hundreds of years in the future were depicted as teens from any other generation, with their infatuation of sex and drugs.
The film was thrown off by bad acting, mediocre screenwriting, and a terrible score (the score alone made the movie seem like a porno, let alone the explicit sex scenes). Speaking of sex scenes, I hail this movie for it's emphasis on shooting sex and fornication, despite the fact that it wasn't very spirited (which may be how they got away with it without some kind of an "x" rating). I think this was the most admirable aspect of the movie, it stood out and conveyed part of the theme. Also, the ending was interesting because it was left to interpretation. On one hand, he was dressed like Neil AND he boinked Sarah, but knowing the character I think his intentions were good. Besides that, there wasn't much else to admire, I'm sorry to say. I liked what the movie was saying but not how it was said. The movie was ok but certainly not good enough for this long of a reviewso this is the end of it.
