That's funny that you thought your own accent sounded odd.
And I LOVE Aussie accents. One of my professors back in college was from Sydney and I loved going to his class (and it wasn't because I liked Marketing Management).
Too bad he was significantly older and married

I love Aussie accents, too. When I was in college there was a TA for my general physics class who was Australian. I loved going to his help sessions just to listen to him talk. Unfortunately, I still didn't understand physics!

American accent is ok, wouldn't say I find it attractive or anything.
The problem with Americans is they expect us English to all sound like Hugh Grant, which the vast majority of the population don't!
If all American women are like your friends then I'm tempted to move out there! lol -

I don't like the american accent much, the only problem is most of the tv shows over here are american, so you just get used to it

Ha ha. It probably wasn't just the accent but the volume. I am American and have lived in the U.S. most of my life, and it still bothers me how LOUDLY so many people talk. I lived in Britain for about 4 years and got accustomed to pindrop quiet on commuter trains and sane, quiet most other places. Unless they were legless in the pub or at a football match, the volume rarely went up too high. It is utter cacaphony on the NY commuter trains, even before everyone had a cell phone to shout into.

Holy cow. I LOVE all accents from the UK!!! I have trouble understanding the Cockney accent, tho. I love Jonathan Rhys Meyer who plays Joe because he has the HOTTEST accent!!! I'm an American from Utah(sort of mid-western) and I definitely don't think my accent is hot. I do like the Brooklyn accent, like Detective Flack on CSI:NY. Mucho hot.
There is a subtle difference between American accents and Canadian accents. What I've picked up is Canadians say "sore-ey", we say "sah-ry"; "about" and "out" have more of an "oo" sound, and that's all I can think of.
OH! One of the hottest accents is Scottish, like Oliver Wood in the first two Harry Potter movies. Holy cow, he was totally the best part of those movies. I'm still so pissed of they didn't put him in the third one.
Anyway, yup. I love accents.
