Why is it called What a Girl Wants? Wouldn't a better title have been Moving to England, Daddy's Little Girl or something having to with her search for dad. What A Girl Wants? Seriously?

This was not the original title. During the pre-production process, it was called "American Girl" & then "London Calling."

I thought maybe they were referencing Christina Aguilera's song "What a girl wants".

I agree, llogan98. I get that she wants to find Daddy but the title should have been more along those lines of a girl in search of her father that she never met.

I always think of Christina Aguleras song as well to be honest. Watching it actually right now on tv and can't get the song out of my head.

What a girl wants, what a girl needs, whatever makes you happy LOL It wasn't called that originally(American Pie was named after Don McLean's song but all there is, is the obligatory trademark acknowledgement to Don McLean, for the use of his title, no use of the song in that film/series.

The main character f'd an apple pie. There's a saying, "as American as apple pie." Hence the title.
