Excellent opening…

The opening scene in this movie really makes you sit up and go "WOW! What the F was that?"
It's especially jarring because of the relaxing music being played and the friendly, retro, pink '60s style lettering used on the opening credits so your guard is down and then WHAM!
The flashback to the 1962 shipboard massacre is pretty frickin' cool too.

True, however when I went to see this at the cinema on opening night, the fact it was an 18 certificate and the Dark Castle Entertainment logo had popped up, I realised that probably something unexpected and gory was about to happen. Of course when it came I didn't realise it was gonna be like
that
One of the best opening scenes in a horror movie
ever

Yeah, its one those scenes that will remain in one's memory forever. They found one heck of an innovative ( not to mention shocking ! ) way to kill !!.. that sequence is probably the only reason, people still remember this movie !
Hey there, made you look at my signature - didn't I ? . .

indeed. the opening was the best part of this movie. i clapped and cheered while watching it like "oh boy this is going to be so great", the pink lettering and happy atmosphere of it made the massacre seem more shocking but sadly the rest of the movie failed to deliver.
the flashback was also very good but i found the music a little annoying and out of place (at least i would'have done it more serious but then again i would change a lot of things in the movie) but maybe that's the result of the number of straight faces
i made during the whole thing. i dunno
