Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Ghost Ship

    1. Cable wires are capable of slicing through the sinew, muscle, tissue and bone of several dozen people in one fell swoop. Neatly.
    2. And it's certainly a lot more effective than just say, shooting everyone on board. Nope, just stick to the cable idea. It will work.
    3. Ghost boobs.
    4. If you want to know who the demon on board is, just look for the blandest, least interesting, most non-threatening actor among you.
    5. If a ship in 1962 carrying dignitaries and the wealthy elite vanishes it would have been no big deal. No one would ever go looking for the ship and ship-faring people would certainly never have heard of it.

      1. Apparently a ship can stay afloat for 40 years and not be spotted by radar or aircraft.

        1. The off-screen killing of main characters isn't cheap, it's "edgy".
        2. Elevator shafts are ominous for a reason.
        3. Ex-Navy personnel (Greer) are not well adjusted folk.
        4. Splitting up aboard a 40 year old, rusting, sinking, hazardous wreck is totally a good idea whether it's haunted or not.
        5. RUDDERS DO NOT WORK THAT WAY!
        6. The Bering Sea isn't cold at all.
        7. If you're an actor who signs up to shoot a script, be aware that the studio might beep with said script before you film it; turning a cool idea for a psychological horror/thriller film about "man's inhumanity to man" into "demon Canadian hell ghost capturing souls. Why? beep you, that's why."

          1. When you learn that one of your crew is an evil spirit massacring ships for over 40 years, have one of your other crewmembers share a room with him.

not technically correct, the people who find the gold in the 40 years are killed and their sould are collected- note: the bodies that Epps finds that are only a week old!
              T: What's your position?
P: upright, head turned slightly to the left.
              T: Why do I bother??!!

                  So true and annoying detail.

Very true, xcalate. What particularly infuriated me was that not only did the Antonia Grazia (or whatever it was) disappear in 1962, but on the very same day the Lorelei sunk too! Two liner disasters on one day!! Terrible!

It's perfectly reasonable to ask us to accept that a group of professional sailors have never heard about the famous story of the
                        Mary Celeste
, even although most school kids are aware of it, and it's generally regarded as one of the greatest maritime mysteries of all time.
He left a note. He left a simple little note that said, "I've gone out the window."
