Democrats in California should be rounded up

Why shouldn't at least a
chunk
of this be politicized? The Santa Ana winds were predicted and while never seen to this degree, it's a known factor that needs to be considered. There is an over-population of humans, and that includes building houses in areas that are in high-risk area as well as the swelling of illegal aliens and homelessness in the area. Aspects of this weather has been predicted, and CA gets wildfires every single year. This is not unprecedented. It's why insurance companies bailed 6 months ago, something Karen Bass should have been aware of. It's called risk management. No one will underwrite a policy when the premiums are capped or want to insure structures that are built in areas that have been determined to be too risky…. yet they keep right on repeating the same mistakes and never fix the problems to allow people to do their work in the event of a catastrophe. The Democrats are housing and diverting funds to pay for illegal aliens to live in the cities. Several people were caught (and that's just what we know about) with blow torches setting fires to property, and they don't get arrested, or if they do, they're released so they can re-offend. This
is
a political issue. Mismanagement of money, like cutting almost $20 million from the LAFD, but sending more money to things like cannabis programs, the homeless and immigration, and libraries.
Even if you want to believe in climate change, that green new deal pushed by Democrats is what made preparation for handling this event impossible. Newsom proudly destroyed four dams that could have been used to house water. One dam was "down for repairs" since April of last year, and while tax money was funneled into the government for restoration,
nothing was done
, leaving a 117-million-gallon reservoir completely empty. The Democrat party has pushed DEI initiatives and diverted funds that could have gone to infrastructure and preparedness, including restoring the 50 or so fire departments they closed, and that money was spent specifically on DEI training. Do you consider that a proper use of taxpayer funds instead of what might have helped these firefighters that are now forced to risk their lives to poor pre-planning?
It was the Democrat party buckling to climate change activists and refused to allow fire breaks and forest management that would have prevented the fire from spreading. The same activists pushed to not allow cleanup of tinder, leaves, downed trees and branches that are like kindling
when
, not if, a fire strikes up. The Democrats funneled flowing, free fresh water into the ocean that could have been funneled into dams to provide water. Why didn't the Department of Public Works maintain the hydrants and plumbing and whatever else was needed so the firefighters could do their job?
If it's climate change, why aren't there wildfires happening in other states like this? Again, human error in choosing when and where to build as well as housing density. And if you believe in climate change, - so what? Let's suppose that's happening. It still comes down to management in advance and a state of preparation and readiness. How are they preparing to handle these so-called "climate changes" that are occurring? By hiring people who are patently unfit to do the job but tick boxes. If climate change is real, then anticipate these events and put the proper work in place to handle the anticipated changes, regardless of cause. The
cause
is irrelevant when peoples' lives are being put at risk.

Short answer is because the natural occurrences and CLIMATE CHANGE that caused these fires in this location doesn’t happen in other areas. A lot of rain, then overgrowth, then a bought of very dry weather, then property owners not clearing brush around their dwellings, plus the high winds (30 MOH plus), plus too many fires of an unprecedented magnitude depleted the water supply which was meant and more than sufficient for LOCAL fires happened. Nothing political here. Only in your head. -

I never said politics caused the fires. What about this are you not grasping? It was the policies that made fighting this even harder than it had to be. Even if you believe climate change is real, what are you going to do about it to combat it? That's what I'm trying to get to. Climate is not weather. Climate did not "dry up" water supplies. Dams were closed and water was diverted, and the infrastructure was not maintained. In the process of this, the budget was slashed, fire departments were closed, and their priorities were skewed.
This was unprecedented weather with regards to 100mph winds, but the circumstances were predicted in advance, which is why insurance companies cancelled policies just months prior. This was predicted, and they did nothing. That
is
politics, like it or not.

Really???? The “policies” you reference politicize the fires.
You can have ALL the advance notice, but you can’t actually KNOW how it’s going to turn out.
Let’s blame politics on the 3 hurricanes that hit Florida this years.
Let’s blame politics on the wildfires in NJ last year.
Let’s blame politics for the blow average cold in the upper US this year.
See how nuts that sounds? -

Yes. The policies were put in place by Democrats who were not listening to experts. They battle wildfires every year, so cutting expenditures and diverting funds and training was political. CA pays the highest taxes in the country, and they cut the budgets of essential departments while focusing on irrelevant issues that should not matter. When even the insurance companies could foretell of these events, you know they could have been better prepared.
I'll say it for the hundredth time, I am not blaming politics for the weather. I am blaming politics for making the job of fighting these fires more difficult than it needed to be and this was anticipated but not prepared for. Weather is not political.
