I also liked it. I expected to hate it and only watched it because I'm a huge Madonna fan. But she was far better in it than she was given credit for - she usually is. The movie falls down in places and there are several cringe-worthy moments, but there are far worse films than this.

All of you don't know anyhting about quality. I'm sorry but you got NO TASTE and don't understand what's a movie and what's SH*T.
This piece of attempt of a movie can't be called differently.
I was soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo bored watching it. So lame. Gianninis over over over over acting bothered me a lot and Madonna's nonchalance was so fake.
Worst cinema ever. -

This movie wasn't horrible, but it was pretty stupid. It seemed like all they were doing was smoking, and I don't think the acting was very good. Still, it was WAY better than Gigli and I wasn't expecting very much.

The performance of Madonna is not so good. In my opinion, her performance in her MTV is perfect, but that in this movie
But this movie is still watchable because of the beautiful view of ocean and the hot guyAdriano Giannini.
That's all. See it but don't expect too much. Just enjoy the days they sepnt in the island and imagine you are there with your Italian boyfriend. -

Not bad but sad I mean this movie basically says that "true love" will always be destroyed by money and power The ending makes you feel like the movie has not ended, how could it end like this???!!!
I guess we are living in a "material world" -

I agree. I hadn't seen the original version or heard of the plot line or i would have obvisously seen it coming but my reaction to the ending was one of "are you friggen kidding me with this?"
And although it wasn't the best movie ever made, it was good enough to leave me sad at the end. Then again i'm a madonna fan and yeah we're totally biased.
Let 'em riot. We're Sonic-f*ckin'-Death Monkey. -

I have to say I got pushed into watching this movie.
I thoroughly enjoyed the WHOLE MOVIE.
**With all the ctitics backlash and the star (Madonna) a box office Bomb (other than her role in Evita) I was upset I was going to sit through this one, but I am sure glad I did.
I was wrong, this little piece of cinema is Great. The acting is on par, the scenery was great and the remake alone stood hands above the original.
Give this one a shot. You just might go away scratching your head thinking "why haven't I seen this before now."
Not an Academy Award wining movie but This version of "Swept Away", is NOT that bad!
Enjoy this, as I did. -

My boyfriend and I watched this for the first time today, and I have to sayI was surprised..I actually liked it. It's not a movie I'd watch again, but it was entertaining..and it even got a few chuckles out of my boyfriendwhich is VERY rare when he watches movies that I make him watch, haha. I didnt get to see the end tho because something came up and I had to tend to it.

No it's not bad, it would never be a huge box office smash because of the nature of film it was, but I enjoyed it.
The middle bit where she falls in love with him was unbelievable and the worst part but I though Madonna was credible as the rich bitch and she did play being in love very well.
Apart from that flaw in the script I thought the style of the movie was brilliant and a credit to Guy.
I people would be more open minded and not listen to critics. -

You have to admit, this movie was a bit twisted. I couldn't believe how many times he slapped her, then kicked her etc I was expecting a volley of insults etc but not physical abuse. Then it seemed like mental abuse at times. Truth be told, it gave me the willy's more than entertain me. reason for the willy's was because "Pee Pee" LOL was smacking her around, and she liked it! Then in the end she was in love with her "master?" Sounds like Patty Hurst type crap. I have seen her do worse, what a stretch it was for her to act like herself, LOL. This mess makes me want to watch the original, hopefully it's not so sadistic (i'm not a wuss or anything, I'm just not a fan of women slapping, even if it is Madonna getting the taste smacked out of her mouth) AGAIN, this is just my opinion

Hey old man river! Zip it, before I break your hip!~~~~Tyna
