A female is also likely to die from this disorder or at the least need special treatment, especially once they hit puberty, otherwise every period could be fatal.
Ahem. Menstruation does not involve "bleeding" as you know it. What's expelled is not blood, but the endometrium (the lining of the uterus), and the process doesn't require FVIII to stop it, since no blood vessels are ruptured.
This is not to say that menorrhagia, or heavy periods, are not a problem in female haemophiliacs, but it is controllable and no more fatal than it would be if occurring in any other woman.

Although it is sex linked, all genetic disorders can be acquired spontaneously due to a mutation in a gamete of the parent. This is another way females can get it. Furthermore, there are women haemophiliacs that do not die at birth and live full lives. And it is also possible for a woman who is a carrier of haemophilia to have some symptoms of a haemophiliac.
It really upset me when I read this was a blooper to fear.com in a book. The book stated that it was physically impossible for women to be haemophilic and that is just not true its just very unlikely but it does happen. Its not like haemophilia is a common disorder anyways. -

Yeah. It's almost impossible and in the extremely rare case they would die at birth. And if they didn't die at birth and nothing killed them before hand, their first period would likely kill them. But again,it's pretty much impossible in the first place.

It's comical to me that anyone even bothered arguing whether it's possible or not for girls to have this particular disorder on a board about a movie where a ghost was killing people for visiting a website.
