Ok, that sudden FLASH shot of the dead teenage girl scared the hell out of me more than any other horror movie sudden shock. And it happened so fast it was over before I could even react to it.
    Your thoughts.?

      Haunts me to this day.
      Very effective scary filmmaking.

Remember seeing this scene in the cinema, it's one of those images I can see clear as day now 15 years on

The head was hooked up to a remote control unit. It could rotate 360 degrees if the operator wished thus!
Kinda makes you wonder what happened to that thing?

It scared the hell out of me too. I remember seeing this flick when I was a kid and that freak scene never went out of my head since then.

Well at least you didn't make the mistake that I did and watch it alone at 3a.m. thinking it was going to be a slasher flick. For me, the part where Katie opens the bedroom door is even worseand Samara totally f-ed my brain up for several minutes after the movie where I just stared at the screen in shock.
Oh yeah and the woman in the mirror (shaking my head)
Get busy livin' or get busy dyin'
                      That's god damn right.

Yeah, that was a very creepy shot. Ditto the flash shot of Noah dead in the chair.
You've seen Guy Standeven in something because the man was in everything.
