I absolutely love this movie, it's my guilty pleasure, but I've noticed that all of my English friends and me find Justin Theroux's Irish accent hilarious because it keeps going Scottish, especially "GIVE US THE RRRRINGS" and "I'D RECOGNISE THAT ARSE ANYWHERE", it just is NOT Irish haha
But my (admittedly not very many) American friends don't seem to notice, and say things like "He was sooo hot with that Irish accent" and stuff.
Any other Brits find his accent bizarre? In fact, any Americans? There is this whole stereotype that Americans are really bad at recognising non american accents but I've never thought that was true. Until I saw this film haha
Bad accent or not, Justin was ACE in this film and he looked good enough to eat, so i don't really mind that much, I'm just wondering

American here. I think I watch this film JUST to giggle at Justin Theroux's Irish accent. He sounds like he researched for the role by watching a bunch of Lucky Charms commercials.
Also ROCKIN' BOD!!!

Its not as bad as some are making out here. I do believe he was going for a Northern Ireland accent and in fairness to the guy its half decent.
The top of Northern Ireland/Ireland accent gets mistaken with the Scottish accent a lot. Theres several accents in Northern Ireland alone ranging from City folk to Country folk.
I know its daft but if anyone wants to actually compare accents in Northern Ireland, compare Liam Neesons accent(although its almost gone) and Stephen Rea accent, they are different. The higher north you go it changes.
The best Northern Ireland accent Ive heard from a non-irish person would be Day-Lewis! he pretty much nails a Belfast accent. Brad Pitt had a decent one in the devils own. -

I'm watching this for the first time right now, and came here to just see what has been said about that awful accent. LOL!! I am American, btw, but my grandmother was an Irish immigrant. So, I guess I am ear for the accent.

Agreed with the user who said he sounded like a pirate, ARR.
But strongly disagree about his acting being bad, I think he nailed the part perfectly.
A sexy psychopath with a weird accent.
Boycott movies that involve real animal violence! (and their directors too)
