Ummmm Well in Black Cadillac I happened to like the car - the black Cadillac Eldorado 1957 Ooh man that car was cool - possibly the car of my dream. But if I am gonna talk about the movie, I'll have to go for both, but the ending in the Black Cadillac was really lame while in the Joyride I can't remember, but I think it was a little bit better, but the Black Cadillac has the spooky atmosphere - like out in the dark, ice cold and there's no one who can help you if your car broke down. Ugh! I hate to think about how spooky it would be, if your car is in that situation!
But anyway as I said, I kinda think both movies have the same thing; that a maniac driver always have their revenge upon those who made him/her miserable.
"You are not afraid of the dark, are you??" Me? Nay matey me = not afraid cause I'm British! Seriously what has British anything to do with it???

Candy Cane I think that Joy Ride is the better between the two.
If there was more love in the world, there'd probably be a lot less dyin'.

Enjoyed both, but I preferred Black Cadillac because of a more effective and creepy atmosphere along with great use of the snowy forest locations. The least of the cast is also still better than Paul Walker (thankfully, all the lead performances in BC were solid).
However, I still think Dead End (2003) is the best of the bunch, probably the creepiest horror flick I've seen in the last few years.

I liked both aswell. I liked Black Cadillac better though, probably because I have a 57 Cadillac Sedan DeVille too. Both were great to me though.

I liked Black Cadillac better I dunno why I guess the setting was better in a way. You know A snowy mountain And also the tension between the characters was better built.

I think Joy Ride was a liiittle bit better (maybe because it was scarier), but I like Black Cadillac more.

tbh before I watched BC I thought it was going to be nowhere near as good as Joyride. But having watched it a month ago, I was both suprised and shocked by how good it actually was. It was so well shot, the characters were well developed, and had a decent plot. All just like Joyride.
But for me, if I had to pick one, then it would be Joyride.
                      Joyride - 9/10
                      Black Cadillac - 8.5/10

are you kidding? joy ride was about 100 times better than this mess. it was bad and boring until the end, then it was just laughable. very disappointing. on the plus side it wasn't as bad as the craptacular "joy ride 2" which was just awful.

I'm watching this movie right now on the CHILLER Channel . I really liked both movies Joyride & Black Cadillac too
. This movie also reminds me of the classic film " DUEL " from 1971 another excellent one like these two choices here
. Another good one along the same lines as these other movies ( but on the supernatural side ) would be from the film " Creepshow 2 " from 1987 specifically the last story " The Hitch-hiker " . Which also is very similar to the TV Show episode of " The Twilight Zone " also called " The Hitch-hiker "
                            .
Thanks faithnomore70 for your subject post

Watching it now on CHILLER I like it but I'd go with The Car with James Brolin or Wheels Of Terror from 1990
Channel Six News, they'll finger anything with a pulse!

Thanks Son_Of_A_Bitch_Must_Pay for these other movie recommendations surprisingly I haven't seen these two movies but will be looking out for those on cable TV very soon
                                .
Also excellent Avatar and screen name - " Big Trouble in Little China " with Curt Russell is another favorite John Carpenter film of mine as well
                                .
The movies theme song is great and a riot too
                                .

This. Joyride can be watched any time of the year. Black Cadillac is like The Shining - best viewed during the cold and snow.
