I don't know what disk was in your DVD player, but Black Cadillac is a great movie. Second best movie I've rented in a long while. (First is Downfall)

It wasn't a "OH MY GOD, THAT WAS BRILLIANT!!!" But it was pretty enjoyable.

Perhaps it's a clash of personalities. Take Napoleon Dynamite for example, which you mentioned (and spelled incorrectly as most people do) people either love it or hate it. It seems to be the same way with Black Cadillac.
I haven't seen it yet, but from what MOST people have said about it here on IMDb, I'm definitely going to rent it.
Out of curiosity, what made you hate this movie so much? (Bear in mind I haven't seen it yet. No spoilers, plz)

I can't say I hated it, it was interesting and kept my attention. I just had issues with Scott. I guess that was the point though, he was suppossed to come acrossed as cocky, full of himself and very arrogant. It just really grinded on my last nerve his "I am sooo wise in alll the ways of the world" attitude simply because he was Yale student. Simply being in college does not make one smarter or aware of the world. He was a great example of that. Not too mention I think he had an unhealhty love affair with his Saab. I found it very agrrevating that he seemed to think he decided when C.J and Robby could speak and when they could not, and did not listen when clearly he had no idea what to do or even what was going on. If I was Robby , my older brother would have never got that far treating me and talking too me that way.
Nope, I could not deal hanging with that sort of guy and his mentality for very long. Just my cheap two cents.

Great movie. With the attitude Scott had, I'm suprised it isn't him that hasn't got the scars on his face.

The first 30 minutes of the movie aren't good. i agree. But before you knock it totally, sit through the whole thing.
It's not nearly as bad as Napoleon. (which was awful, except the cow part)
In the end it's a decent movie.
                Try it again!!
watch it all the way through, then you can complain.

I did watch it all the way through, and I can and will state my opinion if it so moves me to do so, that is why it is called a "message board" so people can share their opinions on a paticular subject . Sorry but this movie isn't a brillant piece of work that deserves praise, why do I "have" to like it?

                    ok.
sorry to upset you, i didn't mean to start a fight. or even a heated discussion.
you don't have to like it. i just read that you hated the first 30 minutes and "had to turn it off" i did the same thing. i just didn't want the whole "movie experience" to be ruined for you by the beginning of the film, therefore i defended a movie i enjoyed by someone who, by reading what they read, seemingly gave it no chance. that's all.
i agree. it's not brilliant at all.
you don't have to like it, just because someone says it's great.
sorry, didn't mean to sound pissy.
don't get your shorts in a bunch unless of course, you want to
