First Bollywood films are seen by a BILLION people is because India has a BILLION people. US Films make more money because the US has more money, end of conversation.
Twisted just doenst make any sense, first from the previews you can see who the killer is, the killer always wears black gloves and you dont see his face in the trailer, there is something in his hands in the trailer that tells you who the killer is. Second, Camryn Manheim is in this movie as a CSI type person. In the middle of the story, she makes a phone call and the director chooses to highlight this conversation as it is important. But you never know who she called, why she called them, or what the point was of the phone call. As others have said, the movie is HORRENDOUS. Terrible script and terrible direction, with no plot or character development. I can't fault the stars for being in this movie, if I were an actor, I would be in any movie that paid me "straight cash homey."

i think someone said "this is a us movie, and us movies cant be bad"
more to the point, "this is a us movie, and us movies (that major hollywood budgets) cant be good"
They put out terrible **** to make money, because u have some idiot friend who wants to go see it, So you do, feel like you wasted 8 dollars, and this money is sent to hollywood, they go wow! people most love this kind of stuff. Get this guy to make more.
So the cycle goes on and on, u see your friend the next week, "Hey! Theres a follow up, its called The Ring 2, we gotta see it". "But i dont want to" "Theres chicks comming!" .
            ..
            "Fine!".
So they get my second lot of money, and all the people that went to the same movie!> so
"These people love these stupid movies, make some more!"
and so they give more money to more idiots to make stupid movies. I bet around 1% of the population could actually say they enjoyed seeing one of these movies, trust me, i have them. I told him i saw the ring, biggest peice of **** ever, he nearlly hit me, physco.
A director comes out, and hes hungry and wants some cash, so he spends all this time making a really good movie, rewrites parts of the script, edits scene, redose them, until there perfect. and BOOM! he makes millions.
But, the next movie that he makes, he says "oh that wasnt good enough, last movie i stayed up till 1 oclock to get it right, but i gotta go drive my ferrari to japan (from america)", so he hopes into it, and gets someone else to finsish it off. That someone is an intern, or an idiot, who thinks that Neo flying around like digimon is gonna look cool, so he hires CG artists to make it look good, but when ur sitting there, looking at this white guy flying through clouds and this robot holding him up with all these stupid little hand and doing all this completely stupid beep you think, boi, someone beep up.
Seriosully though, who wants to see a white boi fly up into the sky, and then hit this other guy and they both go flying. then this robot hold him up with all these hands, and then rain and neo going through the rain, and when they hit each other it make a boom. beep stupid.
            -End rant
Guess some people are attracted to 450 pound women, its just different interests.

Wow. A 4.8 out of 10? I watched this film, bored, while my girlfriend was at work.
I mean, it's certainly not great, and not without flaws, it certainly is not THAT bad.
I do agree that there are some holes in the plot and whoever pointed out Camryn Manheim's phone call is correct, I would give this film a favorable review, on the basis of the work done by Judd, Garcia and Jackson. I could have done without all of the blackouts and voices in Judd's head, but, still, not deplorable enough to earn a 4.8. I'd rather watch this film again than, say, Napoleon Dynamite, but, that's another story for another day.

My problem with the movie was the fact that the title "Twisted" did not live up to my expectations of such a title. It was rather easy early on to figure out the ending. And as much as I love Ashley Judd she has played the same type of characters in the same genre of movies too many times for this story to fly. Also, I found the plot line to be incredibly weak. Why did she continue to drink, when she knew she would pass out and someone would die? Once I understand, twice I can accept, but the number of times she did this was totally unbelievable.

This movie was overrated if anything. I mean i could handle Judd's murder mysteries at the start but its just getting really stupid now, and her acting is really drying up, playing the same character over and over.

Just watch the first half an hour of any average thriller (let's not say anything as great as "Se7en" or "Silence of the lambs" but something like "high crimes" or "taking lives") and you will see that this movie is terrible! It doesn't matter if the cast is great, even the opening scene was like from an amateur stage play. And that scene at the bar with cop friendsOh my god, that was 1st class cliche: macho police gal, drinks, jokes, the mysterious guy etc.
And of course the first half an hour was the best part of this movie cause it got worse and worse as minutes went by and you realised (probably the director, too) there was no way this would end with a good twist

I really don't get all the hate. I thought there was some excellent acting by everyone other than Judd; a very good cast; a very decent, intersting, noir-esque script, and some beautiful shots of San Francisco And a good ending chosen out of 4 or 5 ways this movie could have gone.
There's a reason this movie was shown in the Noir City Film Festival - it's a certain style of movie for a particular taste (film noir fans). If you like that style, you will probably agree it was executed decently and is worth watching, though of course not up to some higher standards set by similar movies.

Notice that many of the negative comments are quite generic (indicting the acting and the screenplay without giving any real specifics).
I'm going to venture a guess: I suspect many viewers were repelled and offended by the very element of this movie I found most refreshing: the depiction of a female protagonist who has sex whenever she wants to, with whatever consenting adult she wants to
and yet is NOT punished for this in the end.
(The character certainly goes through a lot in the course of the film, but she is never explicitly scolded/humiliated/put in her 'place' for the sex.)
I think this freaks some people out. Some don't mind admitting it (thus the posts calling the character a "whore"). Many others either wouldn't care to admit it, or aren't even aware of how disturbed they are by this violation of traditional gender roles; these people find other reasons to cite for hating the movie (such as 'bad acting' or 'lousy screenplay').
This said, I'm not defending this movie as being in the top ranks of cinema. I thought Judd was very good in her role, and the rest of the movie's elements were professional and competent. But for me the movie's greatest flaw was the casting of Samuel L. Jacksonwho simply would
                          not
have accepted a role as Warm and Supportive Father-Figure in a noir of this kind. His casting destroyed all suspense in this movie.
But nevertheless, I enjoyed the movie for its cheeky subversion of convention. The Bad Woman was NOT punished for liking sex. That's
                          very
                          unusual.

Judd is a good cop who only wants to keep us safe my beating up handcuffed suspects, but the demonic liberal lawyer wants to hamper her with such evil incantations as Due Process and Civil Rights!
It's the usual propaganda for state sanctioned violence. The kind of thing real life prosecutors will watch as a porno.
