When he was sitting in the cafe holding that lighter up to the screen it became all too obvious.

It was a really obvious movie. And I agree with the cafe scene and the lighter, then the park and the lighter clicking sound. But, I had it figured out before I stepped foot into the theater. Think about it, three major stars, Andy, Samual, and Ashley. It's too obvious to be Andy, and stupid if it was Ashley. So who was left? Duh, Samual. I think they should have had a few more "big" stars thrown into the mix, and thrown more twists into the plot, then it would have been an 6. But as of right now on a scale from 1-10, I give it a 4.2

Heck, I figured it was Samuel Jackson from watching the commercials. I came here to see if I was right. Uh, hooray?

I figured it out before they even wrote the script. So there.

i don't think it was that predictable i did think it was andy garcia who did it
it would have been really stupid to make it ashley judd.
this movie was not as predictable as some movies like Secret Window, that was extremely predictable i mean come on, you know Depp is crazy from the very beginning

not only did I immediately know Jackson killed her (from the moment we meet him and he raised her after his partner died), but it was soooo obvious that he killed her parents.
How did this script get made?
Still not a film that can throw me off. (except Mementowhich I made a lucky guess admittedly.)

again, like i asked in the other post, what tipped us off about the parents being killed by anyone else?
remember the storyline was that the father went crazy and killed his wife , and then himself, a murder-suicide, nothing suggested foul play in that
obviously if we knew the father really wasn't the killer, then it would have to be Sam
maybe it was the movie title that gave it away, so you are expecting and looking for all sorts of twists through out

well remember the movie was leading us to believe that Ashley's dad was evil, so that Ashley perhaps when she was drunk did evil things as well
why did Samuel kill both her parents, but never tried to kill Ashley herself for having sex with bad men?

I guessed that it was Samuel's character at the beginning of the movie, but what really gave it away was the first murdershe'd slept with the guy over a month before she met Andy's character, so it couldn't have been him. That only left Samuel's character. Ashley's character wasn't intelligent enough to carry out the murdersif she was such a good cop, why didn't she tumble to the fact that she was being drugged in the wine? Hello??? Get a clue!!!!
I was really disappointed at how predictable this movie wasit could've been brilliant.

If it had been Judd all along, it would have been Never Talk to Strangers all over again.
It seems like these days if you make a thriller you can choose between unoriginal or extremely predictable. Somehow, Twisted managed to be both.
I too knew it was Samuel about 2 minutes into the movie. He kept showing off that damn lighter. The only other person who smoked was Andy Garcia, but he used matches, which they made extremely obvious.
How stupid do these screenwriters think we are?
I've only seen two other films lately that were even more predictable: Blood Work and maybe The Recruit (my sister and I both saw the trailer for it and about half way through we said in unison: Pacino dunnit) and dammit if we weren't right.

Well I have to admit I didn't figure it out that soon into the movie. but as time went by and all of the potential suspects were killed that narrowed it down to Jackson, Garcia and Judd. You know Judd didn't really do it, I didn't think Garcia did it because who would have cared. What I mean by that is they never developed his character or the partner relationship between him and Judd. They should have built a stronger foundation for their relationship and also they briefly mentioned he had something to do with his girlfriend or wife's killing. That tidbit should have been presented in a more meaningful manner to cast more suspicion on him earlier on.
I thought for a while that maybe it was the psychiatrist she was having sessions with because he creeped me out. Especially in that scene in the parking garage. But then when Jackson was grilling her about the men she was sleeping with I thought, "oh boy he's a jealous sicko." And I was right. The ending was so bad was it just me or when you found out it was Jackson and he did his explaining about why he did it and everything I didn't even care! The writing was so bad! That scene was terrible.
I don't know if anyone remembers an early 1990's movie called "Whispers in the Dark" with Alan Alda and Annabella Scorria. But that had a similiar ending with the protective father-figure being the killer. But in that movie, I was really surprised and the way Alda's character freaked out was good writing and acting. IMO.

Gee, do you think it might have been the sound of a lighter clicking each time Judd passed out? 😛
