Took me 2 minutes into the movie to figure it out *spoiler*

If it had been Judd all along, it would have been Never Talk to Strangers all over again.
It seems like these days if you make a thriller you can choose between unoriginal or extremely predictable. Somehow, Twisted managed to be both.
I too knew it was Samuel about 2 minutes into the movie. He kept showing off that damn lighter. The only other person who smoked was Andy Garcia, but he used matches, which they made extremely obvious.
How stupid do these screenwriters think we are?
I've only seen two other films lately that were even more predictable: Blood Work and maybe The Recruit (my sister and I both saw the trailer for it and about half way through we said in unison: Pacino dunnit) and dammit if we weren't right. -

Well I have to admit I didn't figure it out that soon into the movie. but as time went by and all of the potential suspects were killed that narrowed it down to Jackson, Garcia and Judd. You know Judd didn't really do it, I didn't think Garcia did it because who would have cared. What I mean by that is they never developed his character or the partner relationship between him and Judd. They should have built a stronger foundation for their relationship and also they briefly mentioned he had something to do with his girlfriend or wife's killing. That tidbit should have been presented in a more meaningful manner to cast more suspicion on him earlier on.
I thought for a while that maybe it was the psychiatrist she was having sessions with because he creeped me out. Especially in that scene in the parking garage. But then when Jackson was grilling her about the men she was sleeping with I thought, "oh boy he's a jealous sicko." And I was right. The ending was so bad was it just me or when you found out it was Jackson and he did his explaining about why he did it and everything I didn't even care! The writing was so bad! That scene was terrible.
I don't know if anyone remembers an early 1990's movie called "Whispers in the Dark" with Alan Alda and Annabella Scorria. But that had a similiar ending with the protective father-figure being the killer. But in that movie, I was really surprised and the way Alda's character freaked out was good writing and acting. IMO. -

It was totally obvious from the start that SLJ had killed her parents.
But I didnt give up hoping there might be more of a twist than just that.
I would have liked it to be the psychiatrist (eg he was the son of one of the victims of her dad, only discovered this fact from seeing her file).
However, the problem was the the first victim had slept with her a month before the start of the movie. So that ruled out both Garcia and the psychiatrist.
Her blond boyfriend was never a likely option. (Too incompetent).
Briefly I thought it might have been the lawyer (acting on info from his client). But when he begged a second time to get back with her, it was obvious he was just a red herring. -

Tell u the truth, i am the dumbest guy in this board cause i had to watch it till near the end. When Samuel set up scene to frame another guy, that is time i known it's him. How stupid i am? But u know what, not even single character show on screen in first 2 minutes , first minute is Logo , second is bridge scene. Did u guy really see samuel in 2 minutes? cool!

people who say it's so predictable are just lucky for the most part - you've got a 33% chance or so. the people who didn't guess it wouldn't come to post and brag. ha.
why is it so farfetched or dumb for Ashley to have done it?
it even looks like a foreign title for the film is The Blackout Murders
i think the real tragedy is Ashely young boy haircut.
i don't know if it's that or something else, but something looks odd about her appearance. pasted on eyebrows or a wig? -

even if you expect a twist i think it was more likely to be Garcia
to me Jackson is the last one you would suspect..
the only thing that was obvious is you knew it wasn't her cuz it was way too obvious
^^This. But I DID have a feeling it was SLJ though.

Count me in among those who realized it was SLJ five minutes into the film. Whoever wrote this tripe made me feel like a toddler during this film, the way clues, especially false clues, were spoon-fed to us during the viewing.
First corpse shows up in the water, next thing you know, Garcia is handing out nuggets about how he lives on the waterfront, knows dump sites, etc., All too convenient, like a bog red arrow that says 'look here'.
The clincher for me was Jackson's "Phantom of the Opera" to Judd's "Christine Daae". According to the background, the dad snapped and the 'guardian angel' took over the task of raising herby himself. He knew that her psyche trauma might keep her from being a cop, but he hints along that he helped her get where she is. Showing her skills off in front of another cop (the blonde guy), etc.,
Furthermore, the murders seem like they were not only a case of 'they are not good enough for you', but had been mixed with a heavy-handed dose of "If I frame Garcia, she will have a nice, shiny new star next to her name in her new record in Homocide" No tracking down simple hit-n-run killers for years to gain a rep for Judd in Jackson's eyesnuh-uh. she was his 'daughter' and 'star pupil'. her first case HAD to be a big bad serial killer in order to launch her career into the stratosphere.
