Great question, I don't see the problem with it. You are right that are how most men are betrayed. I think in the beginning that is why those two ladies had a problem with it, but gave in after that lady signed up. You never know some women can be the same way.

Evil child molesters? As opposed to benevolent child molesters?

You are so right, and it's unfortunate.

Considering that we live in a man-hating culture, I doubt it.

men are perfectly capable of taking care of kids. I come from a family of responsible, devoted fathers so I've seen it with my own eyes. Problem is.people wouldn't be so open to the idea.

Completely agree. The public's perception of men running daycare centers depends upon their ability to accept men as equally capable caregivers instead of relegating them to stereotypical breadwinners only for their families. In this instance they could be both, but the public has trouble reconciling these notions. Men are just as capable of learning about child care, child development, and teaching as women are. If women can work and take care of their children and homes, why does our society believe that men cannot?
There are many aspects of running a successful daycare center, and hypothetically men and women are both capable of performing those duties. The success of a particular daycare center depends upon the teams of people that are operating it and are employed at it. As far as security goes, I know of a very successful preschool chain that uses a security pin to enter the facility, as well as kid-cams in each classroom and hall. Parents have a password to log into a website to see what the kids are doing at anytime. The website is as secure as the company can make it. There are risks to this practice of course, but it creates a level of accountability for the teachers and peace of mind of be used many parents. This is a practice that I feel could be used for any daycare center, man and/or woman run. There are no cameras in bathrooms or anything, just in general use areas of the preschool.

I run a child care center and I think I'm doing a decent job. Only received heat because of my gender once in the past several years. I honestly feel guilty about riding the glass escalator.
