the stair scene HANDS DOWN!
I saw the movie once by myself, but i didn't pay much attention to it.
but then i saw it again at my friend's house.
right when her face just slowly POPS OUT from the stair thingy, we screamed so loud. lmao.
and the part where she wakes up and finds the lady bent over her.
i think it's her eyes that makes all those scenes so scary.
i'm sure if she had a blank stoned-stare it wouldn't have been so creepy. -

OK guys, since most of you don't know the difference, I thought I'd bring it up again.
THIS IS JU-ON, THE V-CINEMA VERSION RELEASED IN 2000. WHAT YOU GUYS ARE THINKING OF IS THE 2003 THEATER VERSION ENTITLED JU-ON: THE GRUDGE. IT EVEN SAYS IN THE SUBTITLES OF THE 2003 THEATER VERSION.

the moment where the guy finds the ghostly boy in the house, asks hims questions then the camera pans back and suddenly in the silence the boy makes that terribly un-natural cat-like sound.
That scene made me jump.
the bit when u see kaana walk up the stairs with blood all over her and you see her jaw missing.
Very creepy.
Also, The scene at the ending with Nobuyki. Damn was that very creepy. I gave the movie a 8/10. -

This is such a beautifully crafted horror movie. When I tell people about it, I say, "I would rather show a kid The Exorcist." It is truly the scariest movie I have ever seen. Cheap scares or pointless gore, while fun, can not bring the horror this movie instills on the viewer. Scary moments in movies bring a tear to my eyethis movie has tears rolling down my face: it never lets up.
The stair scene is fantastic. Toshio and Kana have to have some of the creepiest faces in the history of horror films. I've never felt such dread from someone simply opening their eyes. I just love it.
If you like this movie and you like video games, check out the Fatal Frame series because it is very reminiscent of this movie. -

I was freaking out SOOOO bad during the stair scene. My heart was pounding and I was literally sweating, and right after that scene some car honked outside and I jumped like a mile.
Wow, once of the scariest scenes of a movie I have ever seen.
And I have an issue with staring, and Kayako was staring at Rika the ENTIRE stair scene, and the music wasn't helping. I'm like, omg I need to fast-forward, and then I didn't because I don't want to be a wimp, and I was watching it on my computer so she was really close to my face! ahhh!!

That was Juon: the grudge(the 2003 movie).
The stairs scene in the original 2000 Juon flick is pretty scary too.
