aaahhh Jersey in Springtimea depressed guy comes home, sees his depressed friends, does depressing thingsand why is he depressed? oh, just little things like causing his mother's paralysis at age 9(boy he's a strong kid) and then much later she diesin a bathtub.Natalie Portman cheers him up kind of.and then there's one pointless scene after anotherand then.well, nobody caresZach Braff took 3 years to write this script, hope its thirty years til the next one

Cool, except he's not depressed, his friends are not depressed, and even the new friend he meets is not depressed.
Could it be that you're depressed and can only see it in others?
Just so you know, when people feel disconnected, it doesn't mean depressed. When we're confused, it doesn't mean depressed. You can have several decomposating mental issues from delusions to religious issues and not be depressed.
My guess, if the mother ended her life, then she was probably suffering from depression.
