Wowza.
- K no. English would have ruined this film. It also would have affected the performances.
- I saw this in the theatre as well as many times on TV and DVD, and had no issue with subtitles. They've always automatically come. The film wasn't hard to follow to all. Like any film in a foreign language, you forget about it after a certain time.
- Um…the ending was perfect was it was. The score giving build-up and suspense to the final reveal is beautifully choreographed, and that final shot has strong emotional impact before the score gives a strong drum as it cuts to the closing credits. You mean you wanted the movie to continue after this scene, where Jesus walks outside and explained what just happened to him?? That would have completely ruined the emotional impact of the scene!
It's like saying they should've explained why the top was spinning at the end of inception instead of leaving us confused! Or they should've showed Rosemary's baby and explained how Satan impregnated her!

Thank you for your reply.
I can see your points. The only one I really think your wrong is the actors performaces. I dont think they would have been affected.
I do say that the end of the video that it was a good film and these points are nit picking tho lol -

I saw this film, and you make some excellent points, especially about the
graphic violence.
It would have been a much better film with the violence toned down a bit.

This deluded fantasy film that was preaching to the converted, was still undoubtedly expertly directed by Gibson, one of the better famous stars turned director.
Gibson though, I feel overdid the crucifixion walk and dragged it out too long, and as a whole, I would prefer to watch Scorsese's
The Last Temptation Of Christ - '88.
There is also no backstory to Jesus. Who was this man that we were seeing brutally abused, degraded and tortured for an entire 2hrs?
Norman! What did you put in my tea? -

"There is also no backstory to Jesus. Who was this man that we were seeing brutally abused, degraded and tortured for an entire 2hrs?"
That was EXACTLY the problem with this film. As brilliant as it was as a piece of filmmkaking it gave no background as to why this story was important. -

There were a few flashbacks, yet Gibson decided that who Jesus was and what he represented as a savior for many wasn't important. He was only making this for his own religious cabal.
