Without a doubt, the worst, incorrect use of the term "jumped the shark", I've ever seen. It's not even possible for a
    movie
    to have "jumped the shark".

Hey, dumbass, just because you found someone else who doesn't understand the meaning, and that someone put it on the internet, it doesn't make it so. The stupidity of people like you, who change the meaning of things, due to ignorance, and take those changes as fact, is infinite. It's sad. It reminds me of the idiotic non words Websters adds every year. Instead of educating people we make them stupider by enabling that stupidity. You are a perfect example.

Well, that was google's definition, but if that's what you think, here's wiki
""Jumping the shark" is attempting to draw attention to or create publicity for something that is perceived as not warranting the attention, especially something that is believed to be past its peak in quality or relevance."
Movies and tv shows jump the shark all the damned time. Pretty much every sequel of a movie jumps the shark. Even video games jump the sharkI mean it's a friggen TV trope for god's sake. I'm sorry you don't seem to understand what the term means or how it is applied, but that's life for the idiotic
But I'm glad to see the fundamentalist attitude lives on here, and like them, you've chosen a very stupid hill to die on.

Jumping the Shark, as Joan Jimenez's answer clearly states, is basically the point at which a TV show crosses the line into being completely ridiculous and unbelievable.
It originates from an episode of Happy Days, when the Fonz decides to literally jump a shark.
I can find countless definitions that support my point as well. It means nothing. If you're too dimwitted to do your own research and conclude correctly, you're beyond help. A guy coined the term in the 80s. It was solely pertaining to TV series. He even started a website of hundreds of TV series, and the point in time they jumped the shark.
Just because the majority of the population started using the term incorrectly, and that caught on, it doesn't make it right. Though society usually bends to the morons, so majority will probably win. Be stupid with the mob, or not. Your choice.

Your "point" was that a movie couldn't jump the shark when it quite honestly can and does happen. Here's some popular ones
Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines (2003)
              Home Alone 3 (1997)
Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers (1988)
              Jaws 3-D (1982)
Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (2011)
              Rambo III (1988)
              Batman Forever (1995)
              Ocean's Thirteen (2007)
A guy coined the term in the 80s. It was solely pertaining to TV series.

I hope you're trolling at this point, because Jesus christ..
Just because the majority of the population started using the term incorrectly
Hahahhahahahait's gotta be a kibl sock. It has to be, there can't be two people in the world this stupid.
So tell me, do you think the term "son of a gun" actually means someone was birthed by cannons? That the term "bite the bullet" means to literally bite a bullet? Do you think "throwing someone under the bus" means a group of people literally throws some poor soul under a bus?
It's like staring into an abyss of retardation.Do you think that means there really is a physical cavern to stare down?

Wow, you truly are too stupid for words. I can't compete with a brain that can't work on a normal human level. I don't speak moron.
None of your examples even make the slightest bit of sense. I mean you're even too stupid to know the meaning of "literally" Is a son of a gun an actual son of a firearm? Does bite the bullet mean to go bite a bullet? Huh? Those both sound like they came out of the mouth of an insolent, learning disabled, sarcastic, middle schooler. Where did I, or anyone, say the term "jumping the shark" means to go out and actually jump over a shark. If this is your level of comprehension it all makes sense to me now.
There's not a doubt in my mind, in real life, you're a failure and are constantly belittled. You win. Stupid is a language I don't speak, and don't want to speak.

you're the one complaining about the original term being the only term, and the original term does mean literally jumping the shark. Fonzie literally jumped a shark.
The phrase jump the shark is based on a scene in the fifth season premiere episode of the American TV series Happy Days titled "Hollywood: Part 3," written by Fred Fox, Jr.,[5] which aired on September 20, 1977. In the episode, the central characters visit Los Angeles, where a water-skiing Fonzie (Henry Winkler) answers a challenge to his bravery by wearing swim trunks and his trademark leather jacket, and jumping over a confined shark. The stunt was created as a way to showcase Winkler's real-life water ski skills.[6] However, the scene also was criticized as betraying Fonzie's character development, since in an earlier landmark-episode, Fonzie jumped his motorcycle over fourteen barrels in a televised stunt; the stunt left him seriously injured, and he confessed that he was stupid to have taken such a dangerous risk just to prove his courage.
If you're gonna dick around with this, at least be concise.

the original term does mean literally jumping the shark. Fonzie literally jumped a shark.
The "term" is used for TV shows, OTHER than Happy Days, and it was NEVER meant literally. You clearly don't know the English language and should stop using words that are too big for your tiny brain. The term itself is quite the opposite of literal. The fact you think any of it has to do with actually jumping over a shark, tells us all we need to know about you. Thanks for doing my job for me.
If you're gonna dick around with this, at least be concise.
Hahahaha..another word you don't understand. Concise? Seriously? Please stop. You're just embarrassing yourself further. Another word you clearly don't understand. It makes zero sense in the context youbused it in, unless you truly need me to use less words because you cant keep up. You're ignorant to quite a few definitions. I wonder how many people are subjected to your stupidity on a daily basis. I'm sure they're too kind to let you know you sound like a moron. You're truly a mental giant. Stick with one syllable words.

I'm sure what you said made sense in your head, but I'm sorry. I don't speak idiot. Why you want to continue showing the world just how completely void of intelligence you are, boggles the mind.
By the way, we've added another word to the list. The definition of "troll" is lost on you as well. Maybe you'd succeed if you try to just use grunts to communicate. It's more up your alley. Words are just too hard for you.

Jumping the shark is a term than can be applied to TV show, film, book or any other narrative form. It applies when a story goes beyond it's source's believabilty, beyond suspension of disbelief etc. The Serpent and the Raimbow, for example, is accused of jumping the shark because of it' over the top effects-ridden climax, when no such event ttook place in the original text.
Just because you're ignorant of the term doesn't mean you're right - it just means you're ignorant.

The "I know you are, but what am I?" retort is never used by anyone over the age of 10. Then again, it seems you're emotionally stunted, void of the ability to think like a grown up, so it must seem valid to you. Sad. The last resort of the intellectually bankrupt.

I did refute your "facts". I told you to read the other post. I'm not surprised that was too difficult for you. I dont have the patience to type the same thing to 2 morons.
Furthermore, look up the definition of the word fact. You clearly aren't intelligent enough to comprehend the meaning. I refuted your stupidity. None of it was fact.

As for personal atracks, are you seriously as brain dead as you seem to be? You came out of nowhere and started with the insults. Idiot. I just replied in kind. The fact that you start a conversation with insults, cry when it's done back to you, and worse, completely miss the fact that you started it, well, that's a case of stupid that can't be cured or even treated.
Nothing further can be gained by wasting any additional time on you. You're a moron and you're content to be a moron. I'm sure I'm not the first to try to convince you of that. I bow and concede. Like I told your lover, I can't compete with this level of stupidity.

But like a baby you cry "you called me names" of which is absolutely a lie - check this thread, no name calling from me
Like I said, you started with the insults, and the fact you replied with this, even after having the opportunity to go back and read your first post, proves beyond any doubt you're too dumb to exist. You should at least feel good that you beat Darwin's theory. That's quite the accomplishment for someone as brain dead as you.

As already pointed out, there are no insults. Perhaps you should actually read what I wrote on this thread and then try and show an example of any insult. Naturally, you won't do this because there is no such example, only your easily disproved claim.
But by all means - do your best. My guess is you will simply come back with more infantile insults - the last refuge of the troll.

There's no chance anyone is this dense and clueless. No chance. You already made it clear you don't have the ability to even comprehend what you yourself wrote, let alone go back and find it. Worse, I already showed the example and you were too ignorant to even find what was pointed out to you. It's all right there for you to read and you can't even succeed at that.
I'm starting to think you're truly learning disabled, and now I feel guilty for making fun of someone who was born with your disabilities.
There's always the chance your idiocy is intentional, but that would even be worse. This will be my last reply. I have no interest in insulting the mentally disabled. I apologize, I wasn't aware you were born with a valid defect. Good for you though for involving yourself in activities. Keep it up trooper..

I don't even remember the bad CGI in the end but I doubt that bad CGI at some point is enough to drop a film to 0/10. Particulary one that was a 10/10 until that point.
