The criticism is not about that but how the film was put together. Lot of it is actually fictional since I've read biographies on Howard Hughes years ago. Scorsese's tale is too simplistic.

More Realistic to Howard’s real Biography couldnt have been made.

It's possible nobody knew fully or would write a bio of Howard Hughes. He was famously reclusive and private. I am actually curious to see The Amazing Howard Hughes with Tommy Lee Jones and whether it's better or not. Even the guy looked like him in the flesh!

The Departed is not bad,
Not a Masterpiece, but not bad.
The Wolf is another one that is not bad,
And I can say he makes the film.
Without him, it wouldve really sucked!
Shutter Island is interesting, and has a huge following.
Gangs of New York, is one of those that I feel is great despite of him. He wasnt good in it, it isnt a good movie, but it isnt terrible neither. He gets Credit just for being the director.
Shark Tale, popular. Doesnt count. It had De Niro.
Bringing out the Dead, Im a fan of.
Quiz show isnt bad. Very Memorable.

So far, the best film by Leonardo is What's Eating Gilbert Grape. He did well in Titanic. I liked him in The Beach. I mostly stopped keeping up with him after 2000.

Sure, I knew of Leo when he did the TV show Growing Pains because I watched every episode…way before anyone knew he existed!
