I have a feeling that the idea was to mimic 1979 original,
but the result is boring, long scenes, the only story and action is already seen in all movies before.

Since the Christopher Reeve movies ended we got newer takes, Lex Luthor is now an evil billionaire, and I think we have moved past the whole Lois loves Superman but not Clark and not knowing he's Superman as seen with Smallville, DCEU, Superman & Lois and My Adventures With Superman, which made this loose sequel take of Superman Returns pointless because it's a few decades behind to where people are with the character.

I didn't bother with it, because I knew a 2 1/2 hour Superman movie would suck.

The worst part is how nothing happens throughout the whole movie. I think Superman saves an airplane, gets beaten up by the members of REM, and lifts a giant island into space.
I got bored just reciting that.

No wonder it didn't get a sequel, it was too light on action and felt too ancient in the wrong ways.
