why did Dean get fired?

His manager Dan was going to promote him and Dean just decided he didn't want the assist. manager position and quit instead. Dean never did anyting wrong to get fired. Dan musta really been an ass and I think that's kinda harsh.

Dan saw Dean as his protege and reacted very immaturely to Dean not only taking the assistant manager offer, but quitting entirely.

Dan seemed really like a badass and loved to bully. He reminds me of a grocery manager i used to have while stocking, which was pretty harsh as well and would let go or fire for no particular reason.

That line always makes me chuckle, David Koechner is just such an underrated comedy actor. He's up there with Richard Jenkins in the fantastic-funny-actors-whose-name-you-don't-know category.
