I have to agree, at first she annoyed me, but then she has turned into one of my favorites. The acting is top notch.

I keep thinking if Jane was a man would that change anything?
Would her drunkenness and swearing and cartoonish self be more normal?
I'm only at episode 1 of season 2 and I too am wondering is it a little too much most of the time?
Is it not a little ridiculous amongst such drama and heartache, like a clown rolling around on a unicycle honking a horn?
Will she ever do anything meaningful? -

I wouldn't say that she ruins the series, I have watched all but the last few episodes in spite of her. I would at that I hate every scene she is in and, if I was watching on a TV, I'd fast forward through them. I find them to be really tiresome and uninteresting.

I've heard this criticism many times by now, and am not as surprised at some.
I completely understand their dismay however, because I absolutely LOVE her character. Sure, you need subtitles to understand Wtf she was saying, but same goes for other great characters in other shows (the wire urban Baltimore for ex.)
I do not agree that she'd completely disjoint any flow the episode had going, but agree that her narrative arcs were underdeveloped.
