Original poster you do understand that this film was based on actually family that had 12 kids. Though one did die in early childhood. Also not all Republicans are against abortion or birth control just like not all Democrats are for abortion or birth control.

ummmm. They aren't against birth control. Did you watch the beginning of the movie when Kate Baker has her little story after the kids come out from under the blanket on the bed. If they were a very conservative movie they wouldn't be having all that fun and they would be going to church and they would be strict with their kids and stuff. Why would Kate Baker have an abortion if she wanted 12 kids. It's not a movie about how she didn't want 12 kids. She wanted to have 12 kids.

In the movie, it is explained that the couple wanted 8 kids. The 8th kid turned out to be twins, ergo, 8th & 9th. A problem with birth control created the 10th. And a misunderstanding about vasectomies yielded the final set of twins, thus 11th and 12th.

Also note that Dozen depicts a world as white as rice. Laughable considering the family moves to Chicago.

A world where abortions and birth control don't exist? lol Is that what Democrats think these movies look like? Because they focus on a single family with large kids(as if they don't exist), that's how they see this world?(Nevermind every other family has less kids?) Gosh, that'd be funny if it wasn't, sad.

Why is white rice in Chicago laughable?
It sounds like you think that racial groups are evenly distributed in each square mile. Do you realize how that is a ridiculous & stupid assumption? You must be a Democrat.
From downtown to all the way north along the lake, whites compose a large majority.

I'm not american so this whole republican vs democrat thing sounds like two fanatical religions constantly sniping at each other. But the original poster sounds a bit of a fanatic. Probably an advocate of the Chinese system of birth control with his attitude that anyone who doesn't have an abortion is somehow "wrong". A woman who chooses to not have an abortion is no more inferior to a woman who chooses to have an abortion than a woman who chooses to have an abortion is inferior to one who chooses not to.

This is the dumbest post I've ever seen. Why would she have an abortion if she wanted kids? And they did use birth control Tom got a vasectomy which is a form of birth control. Also, Kate probably used the Pillthere's about a three year difference in between the first three kids so, there you go. I'm assuming they used birth control of some kind.
And since when are Republicans against birth control? I'm a Republican (a very religious one at that) and when I get married next year, I'll be taking birth control pills.
                  Oh yeahthat just happened.

No. The perfect conservative world would be one free of the arrogance of smug, know-it-all liberals who hold in utter contempt anyone whose beliefs differ with their own. Perhaps you might try "1984" for a more fulfilling liberal vision of a perfect world.

That's a poor attempt to inject your mixed-up political generalizations into a movie about a large family.

Having a large family doesn't mean you're against birth control, it might mean you wanted lots of children.

                              This thread is pathetic.
So much ignorance and a blatant bias to bash conservatives.
