Okay, we have two GREAT actors: Morgan Freeman and Robert Redford. Then we have the stupid, idiotic Jennifer lopez (who should have never been cast in this film). The story was slow and boring. And J.Lo should not do movies like this, she sucks! They should have definitely picked some other girl! Maybe i would have liked it if she wasn't in it. But other than that, it was a dumb movie and i wanted it to end ASAP!

To end a film that you don't like-Walk out of the theater or turn it off. I do this all the time. I make a point never to sit through something I don't care to watch. As for this movie, it could have had better casting to be sure, but Lopez(I am not a fan of hers) did not do that bad a job with the lines given her.

I really wasnt impressed by this movie. INCREDIBLY predictable. The acting/lines were pretty dopy. It was a dumbed down plot, it was a feel good movie. It wasn't awful but from the way everyone reviewed it and starring Freemand and Redford I was anticipating something better. Well until I realized Jennifer Lopez and Josh Lucas were also in the movie. That's sure to hurt a film's chances at being above average.
Nothing about this movie really stood out.
Every plot "twist" was so obvious.
You knew the ex-boyfriend would be back. You knew Redford would beat him up. You knew Lucas and Lopez would hook up and that the daugther would initially not like it. You knew Lopez killed her husband in an accident, but the accident was kinda her fault. You knew somehow Redford was actually at fault for Freeman's bare incident.
I still kinda liked the movie but its not better than a 6/10 or so.
Thankfully Bret Ratner didn't direct this movie. -

It was a feel good movie, I agree with you on that, but I don't know why is that a problem? Especially because the movie didn't come across as corny. Which would easily happen considering the theme.
Also, I don't know why would you dismiss the movie just because Lopez is in it. That doesn't make it automatically bad. I think she did a good job. Probably her best performance, but I realize that doesn't say much since her other performances range between very bad and mediocre.
I found the script very clever. It was a slow-paced movie, but just before the point of boredom something happened. Maybe it was predictable, but focusing on outside events is missing the point. The movie was about inside worlds of characters. That's where major things happened.
I can agree that nothing really stood out, but take a look at Top 250 Movies; it's full of movies that don't really stand out.
