Putting conditions on assistance is bigger government than not having conditions and usually more expensive.
Trying to nudge businesses towards certain behaviors is absolutely a big government nanny state move.
Locking people up is a big government thing.

Drug addicts are usually people down on their luck and who feel they have no hope. Drugs are how they find a way to feel good despite the state of their life. That's why drug use is becoming a bigger problem in economically depressed places like the rust belt. The way to combat that is to somehow bring jobs back.

If you don’t like it, then feel free not to reply. I’m willing to put it past us, now let’s move forward amicably.
There’s a diff between legalization and decriminalizing. Decriminalizing would mean we wouldn’t incentivize putting drug suppliers and consumers — that aren’t pharmaceutical companies — behind bars thereby creating a cycle of poverty and violence on the street level, which is what feeds an army of angry, unemployed young men into the cartels which is what gives them so much power. That **** would disappear overnight, the same way ending prohibition in the 30s reduced gang violence between the mob. Now would the cartels disappear? No they would stick around considering they are so powerful, but their power can be drastically weakened by increasing the supply at local levels to compete with their artificial scarcity and price gouging, which would involve more sensible regulation and not just “Reeeee drugs bad, m’kay”. Literally this entire ****ing problem was created by corporate and government greed, and dickhead right wing religious assholes somehow thinking they can control what we can and cannot put into our bodies, through threat of imprisonment or death.
Anywho, I’m not trying to ****ing solve the drug crisis on my own, I’m just pointing out basic ****ing facts of this government scam. And I see we can at least partially agree on that aspect, because the government does not have our best interests in mind. Got a problem with me saying that bud??? No?? Good, that’s what I thought.
Now hypothetically let’s start first with decriminalizing, then move onto legalization and regulation like sensible ****ing people and not shortsighted, greedy chimpanzee-brained assholes.
