1 How did the guy inspecting the place found the skulls buried in the yard? Why was he digging around?
2 Was the gun that George threatened Lilly with the same one he had used to murder his mother? It looked like it. I wonder where it had been hidden for all those years.

To answer your question honestly

1. I believe he was surveying the yard as well as the house
2. George may have hidden it after murdering his mother, or he found the same model and bought it knowing it'd all go down at his house, considering his moves are very calculated.
