Childhood sexual abuse leaves deep scars on its victims. The devestation for boys is different than it is for girls. One not being less tragic than the other. It is common for boys to shut down when they are abused, and that is pretty much where they stay for the rest of their lives. This is very real pain. This movie is extremely on point.
Feel blessed that you have loving, caring parents. No child on earth deserves this treatment. Pedophiles prey on boys who come from broken homes, especially ones with absentee fathers. The child craves the attention of a male role model. What do they end up with? Rape? In your wildest imagination, you cannot begin to understand how having sex with a little boy or girl destroys the child's soul.
