Me too (and I LIVE in Napa!).
Actually SIDEWAYS was filmed in Central California, which is one of the most beautiful parts of the state. The light in the film is exactly rightits warm and clean and the colors are so rich. My son went to school in Santa Maria and I loved going there and visiting him.
I live in an area called the North Bay (North of San Francisco). Its colder here than Central California (even in the summer). Still pretty though. The irony is that I don't drink!
Oh what a falling off was there.

Go back to Solvang and have aebleskiver at the Mermaid Cafe, where the guys dine.

I did it! A friend and I stayed in their same room at the Windmill Inn, room 234 if I remember correctly. We checked out some of the same restaurants and went to Solvang as well.
