Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Capote

PSH's portrayal of capote was such a stereotypical gay man, it was off putting. Was his voice really that annoying and nasally? Listening to him talk is like nails on a chalkboard.

You couldn't take the time you used to post this, and use it instead to look up a video of the real Capote?

Capote's voice was indeed very annoying. Look him up on YouTube.

Capote was a flamboyant man, totally at ease with is sexuality, an overt and happily gay. And really I think PSH toned it down. The Infamous version of him is more accurate I think. That being said I loved PSH as Truman and this is one of my all time favorite movies. As for Truman voice, to each their own, but I could listen to him all day.

He was a near constant talk show guest for a generation. If the shows
had word he wasn't listenable they wouldn't have haad him on.

              LOL
i love that people call it stereotypes when stereotypes come from the fact that a lot of people act a certain way. that's HOW people get steretyped.
truman capote acted WAY MORE GAY than the movie, believe me. just watch MURDER BY DEATH to learn that much.
