Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Capote

I would highly suggest anyone who liked Capote, to watch In Cold Blood (1967) which was the story of the murders from the killers point of view. Robert Blake gave one the finest understated performances of a tortured-soul and maniacal killer I have ever watched. He should of won and Oscar, or at least been nominated. It put him on the map.

Indeed, Blake's performance is incredible and
unforgettable. The film is one of the darkest and deeply
disturbing films ever made and though I have seen it
countless times it never loses its impact.
Robert Blake gives one of those performances where a person
does not just act, but he gets deep inside the person he
portrays. Now since Blake eventually would be accused
of murder himself, this is creepy beyond words

So I saw the movie 40 some odd years ago on CBS ,complete with warnings, but that's why we watched! Seeing as how we were in Topeka, Kansas made a difference. There was a whispering camping in Topeka. There was a teacher named Ms Clutter at Gage Elementary and she was absent from the classroom the next day. She had some kind of survives guilt.
Needless to say I've obsessed with it for a long time.
