did Truman lie to Perry about the title of his book? I thought it was not to offend him but now I'm not so sure.
Its better to burn out than fade away.

I am really confused with this issue becoz in "Infamous" Truman never lies to Perry, Perry just knows about the title, then he ask Truman why the title, and he explains to Perry why the title, and why did he chose it, and it was OK.
I dont know that much about this.
But "Infamous" explain that Perry did trust Truman and that title says hes just a murderer and was not emphatetic to him, so thats why he was offended at the first moment.

Yes, it was so as not to offend him (in a way). The book's title is sensationalized, making Perry sound like a diabolical killer. The trust between the two men would have been gone if Perry knew the true title, and Truman needed that trust for both himself and the book's completion. Everything hinged on getting Perry to befriend Truman and open up about the killings. Without that, there would have been nothing.

Because he didn't want to get murdered by Perry? Truman had affection for Perry, but he was also frightened of him. And rightly so.
