If somebody has an IQ of 150

Statistically, the highest IQ possessed by any living human should be about 192. I say this on the basis that they should be about 6.1 standard deviations above the mean. That's not a hard ceiling, though, and there have existed people whose IQ's were estimated to be 190 - 210.
However, an IQ of 300 is more than 13 standard deviations above the mean. This should not be naturally possible unless the world's population were somewhere in the quintillions, roughly. It would be much more realistically achievable if said person were plucked from a non-normal population, for instance if their IQ were artificially raised by breeding, drugs, surgery, or whatever sci fi scenario. -

I am curious to see what would someone think of my style of writing.
Lets see if people will make good guesses!
I believe that I am very intelligent, above 150 or whatever intelligence is there that is more rare to find. When I was younger because of emotional abuse from some members of my family, I wanted to take the test and I score at the age of 15 around 145, it was from a book and supposedly a professional one, not an online one. I drop out of school and came back to finish it, I went to university and drop it out as well. Today I am financially independent working for myself. I don't make millions, I really don't need millions, but for sure I enjoy my life a lot!
I was always a bad student, I couldn't read, but I like researching, and even though I have spend lots of time reading many articles I cannot write properly.
Internet scores depends my mood used to vary from 115 up to 140, and I have tried the Mensa and another type of test which I found stupid. Someone with higher intelligence doesn't necessarily knows all politicians from Russia or the Kings from Sweden. Real Intelligence cannot be measured only by how much you know historicaly or math that I have forgot over the years, because I am not just a computer, I don't just sit all day reading and gathering specific school educational info, im not a warehouse!
I am a person, I read and I make connections, conclusions and I create.
No IQ test would ever be able to measure the creativity skills of a true genius or a person who is able to connect different random things and make sense or make a point.
As you can see my English grammar is very poor, but the content is whats important. Many people over the internet have picked on my poor grammar missing the point, the essence. If those people believe are smarter than me, Im sorry they are certainly NOT. I would even dare to say that even "real" professional IQ tests can be false and those who score 130 for example might be overly a much lower intelligent human being. There are some pretty dam dam idiots working as CEO or as professors in colleges and they do more harm than good.
Can you guess why i have hard time writing things?
I agree with Stephen Hawking, IQ test the way it is designed is utterly stupid and for losers, when I realize this years ago I lost interest on IQ tests, I didn't need them anymore to prove to me I am well above average intelligently, I know I am.
The movie makes some very good points, something that I see from my generation (I am 32) and younger generations. This is how I see most people, many things that many people enjoy or their arguments hurt my brain and insults the concept of LOGIC and CRITICAL thinking my ancestors came up with! Sometimes I feel like I am talking to a wall.
There is a decline, but I am not sure if it is because of genetics or because of the western living. We eat junk food because it is cheap, we hear junk music and a huge % of the population right this moment is watching some pretty junkie sex porn over the internet and they call it "normal" and "cool" and whatever slang they use (and I m pretty sure most of you guys will defend it with some pseudo scientific mambo jumbo crap and some of you will even try to logically prove the benefits, and here we go again!)
and there is no government to protect or regulate those things.
if this continues this movie will be considered as a prophecy to the next generations.
I believe that many people can become a lot smarter, the key if to follow your instinct and filter the crap from the good and change yourself for the better.
Our survival instinct can help with this because survival is not Rambo in the jungle, is also the instinct of creating a life of better quality so you can pass this on your kids and to create a positive legacy for the next generations.
So far, the legacy my generation will leave is : Britney Spears, porn, McDonald's and WOW.
from the younger generation is Bieber.God Help Us All! -

I know exactly what you mean. People nowadays do not understand what "intelligence" really is anymore. Worse yet, they confuse it with certain language mistakes (grammar, punctuation) that are unrelated to the message behind it. Creativity, logic, reasoning, etc are the true "variables" that should be used for defining creativity, but because creativity is not a numerically quantifiable thing, you just can't measure it. I've taken random IQ tests on mensa and didn't score highly, maybe the upper end of the standard deviation, but I've never felt as though that is a true definition of a genius, especially when art is also part of what defines a human genius to me. It's the most frustrating thing I am happy that there are some people out there that still are "enlightened".

The internet "tests" say I'm like 120 - 130, but I've done most of them drunk just for the kick of it. Don't think they are of any actual use, plus many don't take into account emotional quotient.
Was tested when I was a kid but they never gave me the score so I don't really know, was tested twice though, thought it was strange but without actually getting results who the hell knows.
Even if I was slightly above average I don't really feel it, nor do I really want to. My personal observation, most people are dumb as rocks, with any interest in any math, science, or just anything beyond cars, blondes and sports being beep rare.
I know a few people that are truly smarter than that and we talk about beep everything and we just love it when someone brings something to the table we have so far established was the truth and then we check out the evidence and sources and just argue about it and it is a truly satisfying feeling when you're proven wrong, allthough and you have a new way to look at your new reality.
But the majority of people I know are just so boring, how many beep times can you mention her hot rack.
YES IT'S beep HOT BUT WE HAVE PORN NOW PEOPLE. -

Too true.
Also, you just knew this thread was going to turn into a "You're a moron and I have a higher IQ than you" type thing. It's hilarious.

Not saying you are, but I always love it when people who are most likely of average intellect believe they're good judges of who is and isn't intelligent.
They typically believe an intelligent person will hold the same beliefs that they do; as they consider themselves intelligent. In reality, it's typically the exact opposite. Typically highly intelligent people will be rather different from average people and will say things that the average person considers to be quite stupid.
Hence the quote in Idiocracy: "For the smartest guy in the world, you're pretty dumb sometimes".
For the smartest guy in the world, you're pretty dumb sometimes:

I took an IQ test because my father is Mensa so I wondered if I have any of those traits. I scored a 144 and still dont know what the hell it means so I am in the dumbass high IQ percentile.
Bottom line.it means zero -

Smartness is in no way defined by IQ. Education, in my opinion, is a much more adequate meter of intelligence.
For example, consider that a small child may have an IQ of 150, does he see other people like in the movie? No, most adults are better than him/her in every possible (intellectual or otherwise) aspect. -

There are different measures of IQ but being smart is a generally agreed benchmark regardless of how it is reckoned.
Being educated is a good thing regardless of IQ, but education will not bring someone with a low IQ up to genius level. It may, however help them to be more productive, more driven, more able to reason and see the world in a more critical light. Some people are just clever and some are just stupid.
