If one has a same sex partner, it affects your life in every way and makes your life very different than that of a heterosexual. For a man, life without a woman is very different.
Personally, I find this to be an exaggerated statement. Yes, a homosexual relationship is different than a heterosexual relationshipβ¦but they're not galaxies apart. The union between the two partners - homosexual and heterosexual - is defined by the love, the support and the commitment they have for each other. Both can share that equally.
For starters, no children.
Having children is not a requirement in a heterosexual relationship/marriage and simply
not
wanting them is a right that any couple has.
Adoption, however, is always an option for those who can't procreate.
I like to look at it like this: Homosexual is just sex. "Gay" is a whole social construct built up around homosexuality.
Okay. I see what you're saying. Personally, I see it as this: Homosexual is the attraction/sex. "Gay" is just a modern-day synonym,
not
pertaining to any particular social constructs. -

I get your point. But it's still very different. And the biggest difference is that there will always be a gender disconnect between men and women. We males can never completely understand what it's like to be female. In a homosexual relationship, you're both guys and that gives that you a better understanding of each other, both physically and emotionally.
As for children, straight people know that children can be the outcome of their sexual relationship. And I've checked the stats. About 95% of married heterosexuals have biological children together. That's just isn't a factor with gay people.
Sure anyone can adopt. But most straights don't need to. And most gays don't want children.
